@ShutUpNtellMe actually microsoft isn't focused on hardware at all. The difference between microsoft and apple is apple's main focus is hardware / devices, where microsoft's focus is all on software only, they have nothing to do with hardware other then the handful of peripherals(keyboard, mouse) they make. And no, computers are not at their peak, there is no reason to think so.

I think where these two companies differ is that Microsoft has been focusing on the technical aspects of computers, like huge hard drives and more, while mac has been focusing more on elegance and design. And let's face it, I honestly think that computers are on their peak, they can't get much better, but you can always make them nicer and easier to use.

Bill Gates is a more complete person as a whole. He has strong opinions on politics, economics and did one of the best jobs so far on philantropy... He will probably go on in history as one of the biggest contributors to mankind, personally i think his work on philantropy far surpasses his achievments on computer industry, he's a example to follow. Jobs on the other hand is a increadbly bright tech guy, he has a ingenius creativity and a magnetic personality. But he's too egocentric...

this is some what de facto..that the internet is already a "major" factor in education but the traditional education system is somewhat trying to limit the use of the internet via acknowledge its inaccuracy and etc. but the internet in reality is very open system and in tenses it is open to individual opinions. that is why i believe it is a better medium of reaching out for education.but most educational institutions sees it as a competitor rather than a partner in "free" education

Anyway, the difference in the core improvement of a product vs how we actually interact with it is fascinating to me. As I said, the interface for the car remains the same while its tech makes leaps and bounds. Perhaps in some ways, truly innovating interfaces is harder than truly innovating raw tech lol

He is talking about the general interface, not what's changed under the hood (just as the car has gone through tremendous change in the last 100 years, but the basic interface has changed... pretty much nill [albeit its more aesthetically pleasing and has non-essential new tech attachted to it]). Thus, I believe his question is very valid. Touch screen (check lol)? Voice/mind controlled? Integrated into our bodies? There's no telling what/when the next breakthrough is imho

Ha! Jobs actually formed a good question for the interviewers at 1:40. It's cool that these top leaders 'predicted' so much of theses technologies here now and the direction they're heading in the future. Kara (the female interviewer here) is really awkward--not prepared at all. Not all female interviewers are like this at all. And all the 'go back to the kitchen' stuff on the comment section is quite offensive/sexiest.

Then Jobs talks about "A ship that leaks from the top" He was referring to Microsoft and how he will kill them in the future. He's not trying to create the obvious leak (at the bottom of the ship) which would be by entering the PC/browser application business, instead he's taking everybody away from that model by using peripheal devices.

In 1981 I remember my TRS-80 Color Computer. It had 16K or RAM and a audio tape drive for program and data storage. It also connected to a TV set. That was the "monitor". A year later we got floppy disks that had 151K of storage per side. The drives were only single-sided drives and they only used the first 35 tracks of the disks.. Tech has changed alot since I started playing with PCs.
